Law School Graduation Date: Dec. 2010
What is the last book you read? 20th Victim- James Patterson (I’m a crime fiction junky) My most recent favorite books not part of a series were The Rooster Bar and The Guardians by John Grisham.
What are your favorite hobbies? Reading, Cooking, Golf, and Travel
What made you choose to work in the Plaintiff’s bar? I would have been disowned if I hadn’t. Seriously, though, I’ve always wanted things to be fair. I don’t know how many times growing up I heard, “Life’s not fair,” and that’s true. But, I think the Plaintiff’s bar makes life a little more fair for the little guy.
Share your favorite story/experience practicing law: My favorite experience in my practice is when a seemingly small case makes a huge difference in a person’s life. I’m talking about the cases where you might get the client a settlement of $5,000 and they so grateful. It’s easy to see the difference we make in big cases. Sometimes it’s harder to see on the smaller ones, but those matter, too. It’s because we really helped them and didn’t brush them aside.
Who is your favorite musician or band? Collective Soul, Goo Goo Dolls, Matchbox 20, George Ezra, The Killers, Imagine Dragons, and so many more
Why did you join ATLA? ATLA has always been a part of my family’s life. I’ve been going to the convention as long as I can remember. I can honestly say I am where I am today thanks to the ATLA listserv. Peter posted a job opening. Dad saw it, sent it to me, and here we are. The resources ATLA provides are worth the annual fee. We have the best convention and the best CLE. A better question is why wouldn’t you join ATLA?
What keeps you engaged in ATLA? ATLA has given so much to me, my family, and my practice, that I want to make sure to give back to the organization.
What is the most important reason to join ATLA? The members. Peter told me when I first started working with him that we compete to get cases, but once we’ve signed the client up, we help each other out to ensure the best outcome for the client. ATLA members are always here to help. There’s a good chance someone has already been through what you’re trying to figure out and will share their forms and knowledge.
